A country’s political stability is a critical business consideration when deciding to enter a country or not. Put yourself in the shoes of a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and his/her management team thinking about global expansion. Your company is in the manufacturing business. You are exploring options where to expand. How will political stability and political systems influence your decision?
Using University’s online library resources and the Internet, do the following:
- Select two countries from different parts of the world with two different political structures. Both countries should have high business potential for your manufacturing company.
- Contrast and analyze how their political systems and political stability will influence your decision to expand into those countries.

Assignment 2: Discussion—Cultural Intelligence and Business
Cross-cultural issues need to be addressed in domestic operations, but even more so in companies operating globally. What is considered a successful human resources (HR) decision in one part of the world may become a challenge in another part of the world. In this assignment, you will look for the appropriate global HR policies.
The Amaya Corporation is an MNC whose corporate headquarters are in the United Kingdom (UK), with manufacturing operations in various countries throughout the world. There has been a change in leadership in the company’s subsidiaries in two countries: the Czech Republic and China. In the Czech Republic, a young male executive was sent from Germany. In China, a middle-aged female executive was sent from the company’s operations in India.
Now, do the following to complete this assignment:
- List possible issues the two executives could face in the Czech Republic and China. For each potential issue, provide an analysis to explain why it is a potential problem.
- Discuss the importance of cultural intelligence and its impact on the globalization of business operations.
- Propose methods for preparing each executive for their assignment.

Assignment 3: Required Assignment—Literature Review: Cultural Theoretical Approaches and CSR
For this assignment, you will conduct a literature review of the cultural theories and global management concepts discussed in this course and relate them to the concept of CSR. To complete this assignment, you will read four peer-reviewed articles (listed below) and choose at least three additional articles from the Argosy University online library. You will analyze and synthesize the materials to compose a 6–7-page paper of your analysis.
This literature review will be the basis of your LASA assignment during Week 7. Before you begin, review the directions of LASA assignment to familiarize yourself with its requirements.

Then, choose a minimum of three (3) additional articles from the University online library database. Your selected articles should discuss some aspects of the cultural theoretical approaches discussed in the course, as they relate to the concept of CSR in a global world. Address implementation of CSR principles within the organization and the external factors that determine the context of CSR policies. Ensure that your selected articles reflect a blend of research that has contributed to the generation of applicable theories as well as a critique and affirmation of the specific theories.
- Develop an introduction on the background of each cultural theory, the concept of CSR, and the purpose of the literature review.
- Analyze all articles and describe the key themes that emerge across the seven selected articles.
- Synthesize the material and summarize the patterns of similarities and differences regarding how each of the authors has presented each theme.
- Based on your analysis of the literature, conclude by evaluating the impact of each cultural model on the application of the CSR in current global business operations. Refer to the internal and external factors that determine the successful implementation of CSR policies.
Remember, a literature review is not simply a summary of the articles, but is a synthesis of the many ideas and concepts presented in the various articles.
