In the article I chose to analyze, the main issue that is addressing is whether or not textbooks should be used along with the advantages and disadvantages of using the textbook. Before I begin with a deep analyzation, what is your thought on this? Do you think textbooks should be used or not? In what public policy aspect do you think yes or no? This is a public problem on the aspect of education policy because there are so many means of retrieving textbooks than physically having one and this could possibly affect the learning of individual students. In the article, the main proposal of a solution to the problem is to have investigations done by several different people “to investigate the quality criteria for evaluating textbooks, such as whether they address individual learners’ needs, maintain high standards of design and production, and follow the aims and objectives of syllabuses or course programs.” (Kovac, Sebart, and Torkar 2019, Pg. 1). With all of this being stated, “Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me or seen in me- put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. (Philippians 4:9, NIV). A Christian could contribute to a debate in this article from a biblical worldview by simply addressing the issue in a respectful manner with addressing his or her opinion on whether or not they believe if textbooks contribute to the learning experience or not so much. “It is obligatory for Christians to stand up and articulate their views in the public square.” (Robert Orr 2007, Pg. 1). Altogether, this issue is big when it comes to people learning and how they learn.
