Select and perform one of the following studies. Share the results with your peers as per instructions for the experiment you choose. Read the Out of Sync article. Take the Morningness-Eveningness Questionnaire (attachments in the resources section of this module) AND administer the test to someone who is significantly older than you. How do the results compare? How does your own circadian preference affect your learning and/or performance in class or on the job? Do you feel “in sync” with your sleep/wake cycle? Reference the article in your discussion.

For this experiment, find a person who just needs to have their coffee to get going in the morning (or the large cup of a caffeine soda). This person might even be you. Then ask that person to go two days without their beverage. Have them report to you (or self-report) any changes or problems that they noticed in their daily activities.
Watch this brief video clip, Your discussion should include the report of any caffeine withdrawal symptoms experienced by your subject, and a discussion of how the findings are related (or not) to the substance abuse literature (reference the text or other scholarly source). Do you believe regular caffeine comsumption should be considered substance abuse? Why or why not?

For this study, complete the stress checklist (see resources section of this module). Discuss the results and how the findings are related (or not) to the stress literature (reference the text or other scholarly source). If you scored high for being “stressed out,” how might you address this concern for the future (develop a stress reduction plan). If you scored low, what do you think you are doing now that might be contributing to your state of wellness?
