REQUIREMENT:
Select a local Modernist building. Research its style elements, function, and materials. Find its history: year built, architect, alterations, transmogrifications. A review session will be held, during which you will make a short introductory presentation about your building to the class. Document the building through photographs and sketches. Write a 500 word descriptive analysis of the building. Prepare graphic materials to demonstrate your research, and present orally and with PowerPoint to the class. Outcome: Develop the ability to identify styles of existing buildings, and develop research methods helpful to finding the roots of existing conditions.
