Topic: 3D Printing: Medical Industry
Focus on one or two things specifically: Transducers and Splints
4D Printing ~ speak about capabilities, don’t say term 4D exactly?
Not printing organs — more realistic
WE ARE SELLING THE PRINTER ITSELF!!! As opposed to other companies printing the organ themself and then shipping it
Efficiency – printing things in the hospital as opposed to importing them (less time consuming and less expensive) CONVENIENT
Lack of legal issues ~ “playing God”
Problem: hospital logistics
Enhancing safety / increasing comfort for patience peace of mind (know where product is coming from , not dangerous)
Available 24/7 Convenience
Long-term: unlimited options
Short term: specific expensive thing that hospital needs
IDEAS:
· Pre-Post surgery splints
· Cast – molded
· Implants? knees/hips/etc?
· Transducer – need 20 to conduct an ultrasound, cheapest found is 12 bucks so over 200 bucks per ultrasound
Make it so it can’t remove records, so if people use it for the wrong reasons we can track it back
· Cutting cost more efficient
· Fits the needs of each department ~ focus on one product mostly, make clear how it can be used in all departments with small examples
· Practical Idea: Idea of buying our product once and then purchasing the materials needed after (cheaper)
