Online class (9 April 2018) instructions
Please post an initial response to the videos and reading (250 words or more) by Wednesday night (11:59pm) and then respond to two other student’s posts (100 words or more) by Sunday night (11:59pm). Your post should be about what you found surprising or most interesting, as well as what seems wrong or what you do not agree with. You do not need to submit your assignment here (I am going to grade directly from the blog.)
To access the class blog: click on the panel on the left titled “course tools” (you may have to then select ‘all tools’) and then click on “blogs”. Click on the button “create blog entry” to submit your post.

Bruce Schneier – Reconceptualizing Security
Read: “The Politics of Threat: How Terrorism News Shapes Foreign Policy Attitudes” (Gadarian, 2010). *Attached here.
Gadarian’s study suggests that our fears of terrorism are politically consequential (i.e. they can influence which types of counter-terrorism policies we are likely to support).
