Primary Source Assignment 1
Using two primary sources assigned for the lectures “The Progressive Era,” “American Overseas Empire,” and “American Society in World War I,” evaluate to what degree Progressive Era (ca. 1890-1920) reformers advocated for social justice. Were their intentions genuine, or were they instead interested in social control? Why or why not? Your thesis should explain how you arrived at your answer.
Reminder: Primary sources are those written during the Progressive Era. Please submit as a PDF or Word Document.
Length: 400-500 words (1.5-2 pages double spaced).
