Students will be asked to develop a “media portfolio”
which can include
newspaper,
magazine clippings
, and other media
that illustrate
psychological concepts covered in this course.
o
It is encouraged to be creative as possible and consider a wide variety of
sources which include: newspapers, magazines, editorials, advice and
medical columns, cartoons, etc. The sky is the l
imit!
o
A minimum of 15 clippings
should be included and should cover each
chapter
in the text book
(Chapters 1 through 15).
o
We are only covering 13 of the 15 chapters in our text
(Chapters 1 through
9 and 13 through 15)
,
however
you are required to cover
chapters 10 and
11.
o
Each clipping should be explained by providing the source and how it is
related to a particular psychological concept, theory, or research finding
from the text or class lectures.
o
Sources should be in APA format! (See handout for APA
style references)
o
Each “media clipping” should be on letter sized (8 ½ x 11) sized paper,
staple or attach additional materials to the back
o
Paper can be white, colored, etc…be creative!
o
Can be in a binder, clipped together, stapled, etc…please make sure th
at
they are fastened together well so that pages will not get separated or lost.
o
