Internship Reflection Paper
The reflection paper allows you to communicate with your instructor about how your Internship experience has shaped your understanding of class-related material. Reflection papers are personal and subjective, but they must still maintain a somewhat academic tone and must still be thoroughly and cohesively organized. Visit the website below to get a better understanding of the reflection paper process.

The first section of the outline is the introduction, which identifies the subject and gives an overview of your reaction to it. The introduction paragraph ends with your thesis statement, which identifies whether your expectations were met and what you learned. The thesis statement serves as the focal point of your paper. It also provides a transition to the body of the paper and will be revisited in your conclusion.
The body of your paper identifies the three (or more, depending on the length of your paper) major points that support your thesis statement. In this case, your major points will discuss your experiences and how your internship and project have shaped your perspective on the safety profession and your degree experience. Each paragraph in the body should start with a topic sentence. The rest of each paragraph supports your topic sentence. Keep in mind that a transition sentence at the end of each paragraph creates a paper that flows logically and is easy to read. When creating the outline, identify the topic sentence for each paragraph, and add the supporting statements, evidence, and your own experiences or reactions to the subject underneath.
The conclusion wraps up your essay, serving as the other bookend in stating and proving your thesis statement. In outlining the conclusion, identify the thesis statement and add the main points from the body paragraphs as a recap. Don’t add new information to the conclusion, and be sure to identify the closing statement of your reflection paper.

Reflection Essay
My experience working as an intern at Allbright & Associates were a little difficult yet, very informative at the same time. I am writing this reflections paper to reflect on my experiences and include the learning experience I will forever keep with me. I will begin with a self-reflection, then talk about what I took away from interning at Allbright & Associates, and end with the goals I have after finishing my internship.
Working at Allbright & Associates gave me the comfort of already knowing who I would be interning for and knowing what would be expected of me. The first thing I had to establish was a time frame and split up my work hours and intern hours. The first few weeks this was hard to distinguish the two and make sure everyone was on the same page. Once we and I do mean we all fell into the grove it became easier to work on the project I had decided to do during my internship. I will not say we had everything down to a “T” but we all worked together in order for my project and internship to be successful. I could not have done this without my employer working hard to help me achieve this goal. When I first picked my project of updating Allbright & Associates Bloodborne Pathogens safety program, I was not aware of the work and research that it would require. This caused some stress and at times I thought about pulling my hair out not knowing if I had what it took to make this project happen. Not only the stress of “Can I do this” but being a mom and wife was also a factor in adding stress. Once my project started to come together I decided to create an APP that I will present at our final presentation which was not an easy task to an already stressful situation. Looking back, I can laugh and say it was not as bad as I thought and I am very happy not only with my work but with myself for sticking it out and achieving this goal.
At first, I was not excited about this internship but after completing it I believe it is important for people to involve themselves in an intern program in order to be in a position of understanding the important aspect of the work. In any field of business individuals are usually encouraged to associate with other people so that they would be in a position of gaining experience in the field. Being in a new field this really helped me to grow and learn from those already in the field, not to mention afforded me the opportunity to research the field and project area I had chosen. For this I am grateful and will keep this experience close with me as I continue down this new path. I now know that I do have what it takes to keep my “cool” and keep working when things seem to be crashing in all around me. I think this is a very important task while working in any position or job, but especially when working in the Safety Field. Knowing what my limits are and being able to push through even once these limits are reached all for the best outcome for the employees is something I think will benefit me as a Safety Manager.
My goals have changed since taking this course, while at first, I was only going to take courses to achieve an associate’s degree in Occupational Safety, I have already switched gears and now working on obtaining a bachelor’s degree. I know this will not be an easy task but after taking this internship I believe I have what it takes to fulfill this goal. While I will still work full time at Allbright & Associates and receiving this degree will not benefit me as far as job position or pay, I believe it will not only benefit me as a safety person but benefit those who I will be teaching and looking after. One day I hope to take over the Safety department and make it the best for all employees, so they know safety is important and we value them for everything they do. I always want my employees to know their safety is more important and them going home every day without incident is what we are all about.
In conclusion, I am grateful for this experience and will take away more than I could have ever dreamed of. Not everything will be easy in life and especially at work, but as long as you do the best you can do and keep going you can achieve whatever goal you are striving for. Keep an open mind because in the end you will look back and see nothing is ever impossible even if it seems that way at the time.
