OSHA introduced the requirement for the new GHS labels with the revision to the HAZCOM standard. The rating system used in the new safety data sheets (SDSs) for fire hazards (and health and reactivity) is directly opposite of the rating system for the NFPA and Hazardous Materials Identification System (HMIS) labels that are commonly used at many occupational facilities. What do you think is the best way to train employees on the differences in rating for fire hazards between the new SDSs and the NFPA and HMIS labels?

Edward:
At my workplace, this training is given during Indoctrination Training and during Annual Recurrent Training. Part of this training that is given, requires the employee to check what that has learned through a test that is given at the end of the training event. Once this test has been graded, we go over any wrong answers and explain what the right answer is and explain why the answer is what it is. This helps the employee have a better understanding of the HAZCOM program. Thanks.
