The assigned reading/viewing background materials included such thoughts, words, ideas, and/or concepts as stereotype, hiding, courage, generosity, humor, reality, worst moments, good life, and problems.
Select two or more of these societal constructs and give your own Ted Talk. This may be in a form of a video presentation, audio presentation, PowerPoint presentation, or essay. There are no rules for this assignment, and students are encouraged to have some fun.
Regardless of the format, consider approaching some combination of the concepts listed above as they relate to your own life experiences – past, present, and/or future – growing up, family, relationships, education, work, military, etc. The list goes on.
Please also note that whether you prepare a video presentation, audio presentation, PowerPoint presentation, or essay, be sure to include a beginning, middle, and an end. Open by grabbing your audience’s attention, make a point and support it with plenty of details and examples, and close with a lasting impression that connects the reader to their world.
